What Is An Overdenture?

It’s what’s called an implant overdenture. So with an implant overdenture, we place several mini implants. These mini dental implants get threaded into the bone with just some local anesthesia, and then the denture will snap right onto those implants. You won’t have to use denture glue anymore; you won’t have to worry about the denture coming loose while you’re eating lunch with your friends. You’ll just take this out once a day to clean underneath. You can sleep with the denture in, and you can see how it’s going to lock right onto those implants, and it’s much more stable. With overdentures, you won’t have to worry about wearing denture glue, and not only will you have a much better fitting denture, but the implants are going to preserve the bone that is there.

As long as you go without teeth or without implants, every day, you have less and less bone, and that denture fits worse and worse. As soon as we place the implants into the available bone, we will maintain the bone that is there, and the denture will snap onto those implants and fit much tighter than the poorly fitting denture that you have.
